1-11-2021 Week 1, Day 2

 Had an interesting training session this morning with Hannah.

I took Sugar as I knew Hannah would target him and seek to go play. I lost count of how many Informal Recalls, "Hannah, Here" + 4 sharp whistle blasts, haul her in, "Touch", "Sit" (SSIF)" and then "ok" I did with here.  It took nearly 30 minutes and repetitive Informal Recalls for her to finally opt to spin around as soon as she heard, "Hannah, Here" + 4 whistle blasts, and come to me. Since Hannah will be learning Tech Savvy (ecollar) at Week 7, I have already started that training with her. Why? Because Aleacia will absolutely need Hannah to believe that an Informal Recall, with 4 sharp whistle blasts, means she had better come and now!

Then I switched to LL and worked Hannah in several alleys. She kept heading for Sugar and I just kept turning her again and again and again until she could remain in the Safety Zone with Sugar just feet from her.

She did lay down, but only for 5 minutes despite Sugar's excellent example.

          Hannah rubber necked, here, there and everywhere.

Sugar again set a great example of how to do Quiet Time, but

Hannah was to busy rubber necking-:)  It was 19 degrees outside and despite the cold, Hannah was impervious to it.  She is definitely a field bred Lab with a HIGH tolerance for discomfort.
Took her home and worked another 15 minutes on some key commands of "Let's Go", the "Sit", "Wait" *which she has to learn so I can open doors and etc., and I introduced the "SLOW" command as she wants to bolt UP and DOWN the stairs. Nope, she can't do that so worked with her until she understood.
Smart dog, but extremely energetic.  Takes some staunch corrections for her to go, "OH, really that's what you want me to do?" And then she get it.

She finally figured out that charging Sugar was exhausting and ceased that foolish choice.
