What do you do about loose dogs? I’m afraid for Kara.

Ok, I got post to go through. Guys came with three loose dogs. I just hid and did not let them see us. Loaded up and got out of there. I don’t know how to protect her. OC spray?

have been trying to comment on blogger post by Jessie. Is there a limit on words? I wrote a comment and it would not go through. Then test one word. It went through. Wrote my comment again didn’t go through. My comment was this: Kara and I were over at tennis courts. Heading back, to car at end of session. Guys came with 3 loose dogs. I maneuvered and kept fences and buildings between us. Guy saw us but dogs did not. I loaded her up and got out of there. I am afraid of her getting hurt by some unruly, untrained dogs. I don’t know how to protect her. Should I carry OC spray? Kim

Kim,
For Kara, because she is so little, you can pick her up. There is a better product that pepper spray, I will post that product on a New Post.
Best thing to do is always Scouts and watch👀 to see if the area you are training your dog is safe to do so. Once we get to Week 2, you will have a new tool to use, but right now pay careful attention and ALWAYS have a safety strategy. "Run Away" or get outta've those potential confrontational situations by leaving.
It's a challenge I know, but sure beats the rigid and inflexible leash laws I had to deal with in MD.

Jessi,
ReplyDeleteYou had your hands full with Hannah and the boys as Hannah LOVES children. She was jacked up wasn't she?
Amazing that you had to capture an unruly off-leash dog, TWICE, with its clueless owner and keep Hannah away from that dog. WOW!
Please note I have relocated Hannah's daily training journey to a more prevalent location on this Blog so it's easy to click and view her daily adventures. Also, please note the Post you did has been made into a 'Draft' and I relocated everything to a New Page and made it available to the class. I need to show you how to do that as you are an ADMIN in this Blog, not just an AUTHOR so you have access to move things.
Great first day with Hannah!
