Saturday 2-19-2022 Week 5, Day 3 and both Week 5 EXAMS are D.O.N.E. Roxanne/Hannah

Interesting day.  Started by picking up Hannah who was incredibly thirsty, not usually normal for her, which tells me she was too hot in her kennel. We hope to have snow, Lord willing, abundant snow and cold temperatures Monday, but today was warm. You will need to get her a fan pointed near her kennel once the days are this warm. I needed to put her tab on her collar and again it was on her bass akwards.  So, I changed it. Whomever is putting on her chain collar, please review the video on how to correctly put a chain collar on.

Loaded up and headed to soccer fields to meet Kim/Kara.  We had an unexpected training opportunity with people arriving to go into Monroe Community Center.  We had a woman and a young teenage boy, dressed in black, do both dogs Approach by a Stranger. THIS TIME, HANNAH DID NOT MOVE A FOOT, NOR FLINCH AWAY, NOR BACKPEDDLE. NOTHING. She held her Sit/Stay beautifully and Kara also did noticeably better.

We headed to the soccer field in the back bordered by homes and fences and barking dogs. Now, we've been using these dogs as THE PERFECT DISTRACTION training for months, as well as the bleachers in front of these barking dogs. Today, the owner came out (1st time that has happened) and asked us to work elsewhere.  I bit my tongue as that is a public soccer field and our dogs were clearly leashed. We left and worked on bleachers closer to the soccer field in the middle area.  Jessi, just be aware on weekends, this owner is home.

Kim and I worked Downs over and over and over and over again. I did at least 25 Down corrections on the concrete between the two fields while Kim did Kara's Downs on the benches inside the dugout.  It was REALLY good training for both dogs.

Onward to some warmup LL with one dog restrained while the other dog was LL in front, behind and beside the restrained dog. Then we switched. SUPER GOOD TRAINING!

This video with Hannah having a hissie fit is hysterical to watch-:) It is something Jessie and I have seen consistently in Hannah.  She attacks the LL when it wraps around her legs.  I'm super cautious about putting any pressure on the line when it's around her legs as I don't want her to be hurt. But once she is able to step away from any pressure from the LL, I correct her for attacking the LL.

Kim wanted me to show her again how to do the 'Stair Step' exercise I invented to get a dog to focus on my footwork.

Warm up doing LAT (Left About Turn)

Finally, the 1st Week 5 EXAM # 2: String Test effort-:)

 ALMOST HANNAH, ALMOST

Another Week 5 EXAM effort, but my fat fingers were struggling with making the thread loops. Mind you this is regular thread, not buttonhole or quilting thread, plain old regular thread. Hannah waits patiently for me-:)

And then, we did the Week 5 EXAM: String Test, Take 2 and IT'S A PASS!
And the cyber crowds go wild!!!

Atta girl, Hannah!
