2-28-2022 Week 6 (EXAMS) Day 6 Roxanne/Hannah

Today, I did NOT work Hannah for 45 minutes before her required Week 6 EXAMS. The Week 6 EXAMS should be done cold, that is with a dog that has NOT been warmed up.  Hannah had a few struggles today, not with her Week 6 EXAMS, but with her Stays.  

 I worked those until she was solid.  She had multiple new distractions to work AGAINST like Mary, Mary and Molly, a dead duck, turkeys, Molly (that was the BEST distraction of all today), Kim/Kara. 

Again, as is usually true of Hannah, she learned from each correction and got better as a result.

 

 Now, at one point she got loose of my backtie (my hands were mighty cold) and did LLLL towards Kara, rolled her and jumped her.  It took several moments for me to safely grab her leash and and oh MY, MY, MY 😕 she got the worst correction I have EVER given her. Kim has that video so will upload it here when I get it.  I could NOT allow her to believe she could disobey my "Come" command and go after Kara, so she earned that oh so tough correction from me.

Hanna made a BIG mistake and got the correction of her life After that? She and Kara wouldn't EVEN look at each other. Each was convinced the other one was 'poison' and they avoided each other. Lesson learned.

We finished the Week 6 EXAMS and headed to the lumber yard for some heeling

What is most interesting in these photos is the progression of Kara's attention to her position in relationship to Kim. 

Kara starts off getting constant collar corrections because Kim's leash position is correct....

AND THEN, Kara opts to remain close to Kim to maintain her personal comfort which means no collar corrections

AND check out Kara's eyes - she is totally aware of Kim and working FOR and WITH her.  It's serious PROGRESS for Kim and Kara!!!

And after that, how was Hannah?
